Our objective is to secure the necessary resources and support dedicated to catalyzing the creation of short films and narratives that authentically depict the diverse experiences within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. We prioritize narratives delving into the complexities of intersectionality, celebrating the richness of diverse identities, and possessing the validity to reach a broader audience.
NON-PROFIT PRODUCTION
Generously supported by philanthropists who share our vision, Lumina authentically portrays diverse experiences within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. As a non-profit production company, our innovative funding model sets us apart, enabling us to produce commercially viable narratives that have a positive impact on the LGBTQ+ movement. By amplifying the visibility and understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences, our films contribute to challenging stereotypes, broadening perspectives, and fostering empathy. Our commitment to a unique funding approach ensures sustainability, allowing us to continue championing impactful storytelling that drives positive change and advocates for a more inclusive and accepting society.
LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY
Additionally, these short films serve as a powerful proof of concept, vividly illustrating the compelling potential and viability of the narratives we champion. Following their distribution and festival circuit success, the intellectual property (IP) from these films undergoes a meticulously planned transition to our for-profit affiliate, Lumina Films. This strategic move represents a pivotal step towards ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission. By strategically shifting the intellectual property to Lumina Films within the for-profit sector, our aim is to leverage these successful proofs of concept to attract investors for the long form, thereby gaining greater influence in mainstream media and exponentially expanding the reach and impact of LGBTQ+ stories.
